Starting Solids Safely is a self-paced, 100% online course that will provide you with all the information you need to start solids, and how to navigate the transition from breast and bottle feeds to food as your child’s primary source of nutrition. Plus, you’ll learn exactly what to do in a choking emergency and how to respond if someone of any age becomes unresponsive. This includes CPR instruction for infants, children, and adults of all body types.
BOTH! I want you to start solids in whichever way works best for your family. That might mean choosing one method over the other, or a combination of both! This course covers both methods plus combo feeding.

There is 90 minutes of video content divided into 10 chapters, plus eBooks and bonus resources that you can access to supplement your learning.

Absolutely! I am based in the United States, so I reference recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Heart Association. There may be slight differences between the recommendations from the United States and other countries.
This course will not provide a formal CPR certification. To receive a recognized CPR certification from the American Heart Association, a 3-4 hour course is required that includes an in-person component and exam. Starting Solids Safely is intended for parents and caregivers who want to learn what to do in emergency scenarios, but do not require proof of CPR certification.
